STRUGGLES:

For years I heard people talking about yoga, but somehow I was never interested in it. I thought it would be boring (total ignorance!) and very focused on meditation.

Years ago, I did a meditation class, and I left more stressed than when I entered the class :) - I had some issues being able to disconnect. 

Until this year, I had a friend who said she was going to yoga and that it was helping her with muscle pain and flexibility. As I went to the gym in the morning,

I decided to try it and see if it would help me. Not only did I see the benefits, I realized that “boring” is not an adjective that one can associate with yoga!

You came highly recommended by another teacher, and that says it all:) It usually doesn’t happen - teachers can be quite “competitive”!

The sequences are very well structured, and we can feel that you know what you are doing, which is something significant for us students - to trust the teacher

TRANSFORMATION:

Yoga has already transformed something in me - understanding the importance of breathing.

It makes a difference as I started practising breathing exercises at home when I am stressed and need to calm down.

STRUGGLES:

I practiced Karate for a very long time. After I moved away from my hometown I struggled to find a dojo that made me feel like home.

So I was looking for another way to exercise that puts my mind at ease and also allows me to strengthen my body.

That was about 12 years ago. Since 12 years I am practicing yoga – it helps me to switch off after a long day at work, feel strong and in control.

The reason I kept practising is simple – for me the people make the place – I would have stayed practising Karate if I had found the right people to practice with – but instead I am finding inspiring Yoga teachers that I feel attached to.

I absolutely love that we have 1 month to practice a routine. Which makes me understand certain things much better and also remembering them when doing to other classes.

I started yoga five years ago when I began experiencing lower back problems and needed to strengthen and stretch my body and core.

I must admit that I am naturally more flexible than most other men, which has been a great advantage.

At the age of 43, out of curiosity, I joined a few semi-private yoga classes, and I quickly felt the benefits of yoga for my mind and body.

Despite my years of practice, my Chaturanga and handstand are very weak. I had some issues in the past with my right shoulder, and I am worried about injuring it again.

STRUGGLES:

I have been on something of a journey with Natalia for the last year.

I was struggling with stress and decided that yoga would be a good thing to integrate into my life. I had practiced some yoga previously but it had always been a bit sporadic at best.
