So it’s easy to assume it’s a motivation thing, or that you just need to try harder. But it’s not that.

but…If your practice is random, it produces random results.
Not because you're doing it wrong, but because your body is designed to adapt to patterns, not to variety for its own sake.
When every class is different, when there's no thread connecting one session to the next, your body never gets the signal it needs to change.

I'm 47. I've been practicing for 18 years and teaching for over a decade. I have 3,400 hours on the mat with students. But the thing that matters more than any of that is that I've lived the shift you're navigating right now.
For a long time I believed yoga had to be long, hard, and demanding to count. Ninety-minute classes. Big shapes. A lot of intensity. That belief gave me sensitive knees and a very specific understanding of what hip tightness actually feels like. What it didn't give me was strength where I needed it, or a practice I could sustain as my body and my life kept changing.
⚠️ That was the beginning of a shift.
I stopped teaching for approval and started teaching for utility. Less performance. More intention. More attention to what happens after class is over, in the body you take home, in the life you're actually living.
If you've ever opened a yoga video and thought, wait, what are we even doing here... you're not alone. There is a lot of yoga out there that looks good and leads nowhere. I know, because I taught some of it before I understood the difference.
What I build now is different. Not more complicated. Just more purposeful.
